Bio
Hello, I’m Orn, a Thai science communicator based in the UK. With a background in veterinary medicine, I know first-hand the need for clean, effective science storytelling. My illustrative work is centered on transforming scientific concepts into visual stories that are educational and accessible.
Background
Creativity has always been in my nature, and has remained a large part of my science education and practice.
I hold a bachelor’s degree from faculty of veterinary medicine, Khon Kaen University (KKU), Thailand. I have worked as a research associate and veterinary practitioner at Veterinary Medical Aquatic Research Centre of Excellence (VMARCE), Chulalongkorn University, and as Editorial staff and Scientific Visual Storyteller at Veterinary Practitioner News (VPN) Magazine in Bangkok.
After 4 years in the veterinary field, where I witnessed the powerful impact of visual communication and storytelling at the intersection of human and veterinary medicine, I chose to formally bring science visualization into my professional practice through the Master’s in Medical Visualisation and Human Anatomy Programme at the Glasgow School of Art and University of Glasgow.
With strong foundations in veterinary medicine and experience across numerous visual communication methods, I aim to contribute to the science community by providing clear, compelling visuals that make complex medical concepts accessible to broad audiences.
